Face jacket

A presumably homeless woman asked me for change yesterday and I told her I was sorry but had no change. She cursed at me and told me she would rip my jacket off my face. I had obviously flustered her by talking back to her.

I really didn’t have any change. I often give when I have paper or coin money but that is so rare these days. I guess the best strategy is to ignore the person asking for money. Something about that doesn’t seem right though. I’ve always felt being ignored is the worst feeling in the world. Better to be hated than treated as if you don’t exist.

I think the simple answer is this: leave the house with change.
