Dime a dozen

The New York Times has a way of making a person feel less than unique, even though the paper’s marketing speak says reading it will set you apart.

I was at The Center for Fiction yesterday and asked the clerk to help me find a collection of short stories I had just read about in the Times. He jumped up and said yes sir, it’s very popular. Can I ask where you heard about it? He said as he handed me a copy of the book.
